Message from the Principal
We are very proud of our school. We have challenged the students and staff to "Make a Difference" in our own school, in our community and in our global community. Our students are engaged in meaningful work through their daily lessons and the great co-curricular opportunities that OSCVI staff offer for our students. The meaningful work by the Terry Fox committee, Free the Children group, POP - Power to the People group, our recent Student Council Food drive, Holiday assembly planning, sports teams and new clubs all make an important difference in our world on many levels. Our recent Elective a.m. showed how many creative and interest talents exist within our building on the East side.
Our Boys' Basketball teams, Girls' Volleyball teams, hockey teams and even the Downhill and X-country ski teams are in full swing. Despite the balmy temperatures and lack of snow, we are planning the next session of "Beyond the Bell" electives for February 29th. How suitable for a strange winter to have it on the "Leap Year" day! The students are representing our school with respect and are very competitive. At the same time our school spirit is at an all time high.
If you have any questions regarding your community school on the East side, please call us. If you want to join us for the next School Community Council meeting, be sure to arrive at 7 p.m. on January 24th. We will be holding our grade 8 information night on January 31st at 7 p.m.. We encourage you to find out more about this great school.
